Recite this Durood – Fri reminder

Hadhrat Ibn Abbaas (رضي الله عنه) reports that when he used to recite Durood upon Rasulullah (ﷺ) he would recite it in the following words:

اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ شَفَاعَةَ مُحَمَّدٍ الْكُبْرَى، وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتَهُ الْعُلْيَا، وَآتِهِ سُؤْلَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَى، كَمَا آتَيْتَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى

O Allâh, accept the intercession of Hadhrat Muhammad (ﷺ) (i.e. the intercession at the time when all the nations will be in difficulty on the plains of Hashr) and raise him to the highest rank, and grant him what he desires in the Aakhirah and this world, like how You granted Hadhrat Ibrahim (عليه السلام) and Hadhrat Moosa (عليه السلام).

The Light of the Durood recited:

Abul Qaasim Marwazi (رحمة الله عليه) relates: “My father and I used to study Ahaadith at night. It was seen in a dream that on the spot where we sat, a brilliant light had appeared which stretched right to the heavens. Someone then enquired as to what this beam of light was? It was explained that this was the light of the Durood upon Nabi (ﷺ) which these two scholars had recited while they were studying Ahaadith.

Image or light, that is the question? We tend to spend our lives dedicated to the image, to the material. The image represents the body. The light represents the spirit. Do we identify more with our body or with our spirit? The highest levels of living are experienced when we have an absolute disregard for the body beyond our basic needs and a complete adherence to the promptings of the Divine Spirit within us. It is then that we form our identity from the spirit within, when we let the sweet light within us shine. A person who is completely dedicated to the light is capable of anything. Prayer shifts our dedication from the image to the light.

We want to live in peace. Without peace life is a drudgery. Peace is the fruit of an intimate harmony among the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual elements of the human person. Peace is not the absence of pain or pressure. Nor is it the absence of activity. Peace is not lying on a beach without a worry in the world. Peace is not born by doing nothing. This peace I speak of is a certainty in my heart and mind that I am using my life for the worthy purpose – that each day I am able to l♡ve more than the day before; that I am becoming a better person each day; that in my own way I am touching and improving the lives of others. It is maintained with the conviction that the way I am spending the energies of my life makes sense.

“Allâh is the Light of the Heavens and the Earth”.

The parable of His Light is as if there were a niche and within it a lamp,

the lamp enclosed in glass,

the glass shining like a radiant star:

lit from a blessed tree –

an olive tree neither of the East nor of the West –

whose oil would almost give light (of itself) even though it had not been touched by fire.

Light upon Light!

‘Allâh guides whom He will to His Light.’

‘Allâh doth set forth Parables for men: and Allâh doth know all things.’ [The Holy Qur’an, 24:35]

Ubayy Ibn Ka`b [رضي الله عنه] said:-

‘The similitude of His light [takes place in] the Muslim’s heart.’

This light, which He has placed in the heart – l♡ve, faith and the remembrance of Allâh. It is the light that He has sent down to His servants, by which He gives them life, and by which they walk among people. Its origin is in their hearts, but then He strengthens and increases it until it appears upon their faces, limbs, bodies, even their clothes and dwellings.

People of this nature perceive it, while others deny it.

On the Day of Judgement, however, it will come forth by their faith, and hasten before them in the darkness of the Bridge, that they might cross it.

They will proceed in proportion to either its strength or its weakness in their hearts during their life in the world.[Ibn Kathir, 3:464]

It is incumbent on a Muslim to dive deep into the sea of the light of l♡ve – the l♡ve of the blessed Messenger (ﷺ) to attain the light of Allâh’s l♡ve…

Peace, Salutations Salaam and Durood in abundance Upon Rasulullah (ﷺ)…
